Now it is time to put the moulding in and cut it to length. Unfortunately my personal skills at guessing at how short to cut the moulding suck, and I managed to cut the moulding about 3mm short and crooked. Fortunately it can be placed at the bottom of the case where it wont draw much attention and can be stretched so as to be less obvious.

Already looks good doesn't it. Installing the moulding was the easy part - the window is an absolute pain in the arse. After two of us messed around for a good 10 minutes we managed to get all but one corner in - I foolishly lifted up the case and tried to push the last corner in. And promptly out slid the whole window complete with moulding. Damn. You see, without the locking strip, the moulding isn't going to hold up to much pressure - especially not the pressure required to pop the corner of the window into it.

So as an alternative I finally got it finished by turning the case over and attacking from the back.

Here we see the locking strip - I began to insert it about 5cm away from the gap in the moulding - simply to allow for ease of removal should the time come that I move my componants into a new housing.

Now, I find it quite ironic that even after having read the instructions for the window installation and having taken special note of the section saying "Use a flat head screwdriver and remember to take your time because a flick of the screwdriver can leave a permanent scratch", I managed to put a 3cm gouge in my window just between the bottom of the case side and the fan blowhole with an over sharp flathead attachment for my screwdriver after a visitor to the labs distracted my concentration at the wrong time. :(

In this photo the rotational offset of the fan is illustrated, and as you can see so is the lack of a third screw - indeed it looks worse when you come to look at it from an angle.

The fan pictured is a 120mm Sunon 120CFM case cooling fan [thanks to Below-Zero for suplpying this]. It is not suggested that one runs this fan off their motherboard although such a connector is provided for confusions sake, instead we would suggest running it from a "Molex" to 3 Pin fan adaptor or from a (fan/bay)bus.
